We spend a lot of time poolside or in our backyards when the weather is warm. Poolside locations make perfect spots for hosting outdoor festivities. Whether its hosting parties or to spend quality time with our friends and family members you can turn your backyard into an oasis. If you are looking to create or update an outdoor area such as your pool deck or patio then pavers can create the look and feel you seek. In short a pool paver is type of floor or ground covering for outdoor use. Around the pool situating pavers together creates a patio or deck. Using pavers together is similar to installing a floor in your home but pavers hold up to the outside elements.
Thin pavers were created to remodel existing pool decks patios sidewalks and front entries. They are perfect for any non-vehicular application that remodels an existing concrete slab. By a technical definition thin pavers are not considered pavers. Instead they are considered to be a tile. Their thickness relative to their shape prevents them from being considered a paver. Typically thin pavers are anywhere from three quarters of inch in thickness to an inch and a quarter. Since they are about half the thickness of regular pavers they should cost less right? Unfortunately on a material only basis thin pavers cost the same as thick pavers. The reason for this is that overwhelmingly thick pavers are in much higher demand than thin pavers. Therefore it is a burden on the production company to produce their less frequently demanded thin counterparts.
These pavers are commonly used for those on a tight budget but want to have the look and feel of natural stone. There are different colors to choose from. Dyes and pigments are added during the manufacturing process to produce these different colors. Color sealant is commonly used for concrete pavers to preserve its color Natural stone pavers can withstand the harshest of climate and weather. Stones are quarried cut into pieces and shaped into pavers for easy installation. There are different types of stones used in landscaping stones such as Bluestone limestone granite Cantera marble and travertine. Natural stone pavers are commonly used in pathway patios garden steps driveways and garden borders. It enhances the looks and appeal on ones property.
Choose from hexagonal rectangular octagonal or square styles. These types of pavers are exceptionally durable and can last well over several decades. Another type of paver is a turf paver. These hollow pavers are installed using a grid system with a concrete or recycled plastic foundation. Upon installation of this grid also referred to as a "honeycomb" system gravel and topsoil are added inside. The pavers making up these grids encourage the growth of grass over the structure which creates an incredibly strong pavement made of turf or grass. These eco-friendly pavers are used to reduce the erosion of the soil and are a great "green" alternative to 100% concrete pavements.
