Stone and concrete brick paving products can transform any landscape into a beautiful piece of work. Lets dive into some of the more common used pavers today:
Generally most individuals prefer installing flagstone patio pavers instead of the brick or cement pavers. One of the reasons for their preference is that flagstone is a unique and natural item. However many people believe that brick patio pavers are excellent to enjoy the outdoor living areas. The primary reason for their opinion is the different patterns that the bricks can create providing a new look to the area. To install patio ideas with brick pavers there is no need to buy additional materials other than the materials required for other kinds of pavers. The material selection depends on the chosen pattern which can be either made with concrete brick or stone pavers. Individuals can choose one of the available designs or create a complete new design. After selecting the design the remaining installation process is simple and easy.
Protection - Cleaning pavers followed by sealing pavers you are essentially putting a shield that protects it from being damaged due to various external factors such as reaction with acid and fungal infestations. You dust proof your pavement by creating a film on it. It helps repel water damage and repel stains caused by oil grease and grime. Sealing pavers renews the surface color and provides a protective barrier from the sun and its damaging effects of the ultra-violet rays and provides protection from efflorescence. Paver sealing prevents the absorption of stains as well as deter the growth of algae mold mildew and weeds and insect activity making ongoing maintenance of a properly sealed paver surface much easier and far more effective.
After fixing any sagging areas look for individual pavers that are sitting higher or lower than the surrounding pavers. A paver that sits higher can often be leveled by using a rubber mallet to force it into its proper position. If its too high or doesnt move you may have to remove it so you can remove some of the sand thats below the paver. If it sits low youll have to remove it to add sand until its level. To remove the paver you can purchase a paver removal tool or you can use a small pry bar to loosen the paver and lift it out of its space being careful not to crack or chip the paver. Its a good idea to pressure wash the surface on a yearly basis. Pressure Washing cleans the surface of your pavers and also remove much of the organic material growing between the pavers. Removing the organic material reduces the amount of bugs living in your paver area and helps keep the pavers stable.
