Outdoor patios have come a long way since the days of a wooden picnic bench gracing 24 x 24 concrete patio tiles with a charcoal BBQ in the corner. Todays decks and patios come complete with sofas end tables overstuffed chairs and ottomans. The old patio tiles are replaced with slate and huge elaborate gas grills complete the ensemble. With nothing but a sliding glass door separating a homes interior from the patio there is very little distinction between the two. Its time to throw out the old plastic chairs and make way for the plush double chaises with overstuffed cushions and coffee tables. You can buy any entire suite of aluminum furniture that looks like mahogany along with water resistant cushions.
You could have a formal or informal setting. You can have pavers installed in your patio porches steps sidewalks or even on indoor flooring and walls. Brick pavers; especially have the ability to instantly transform uninviting exteriors to a cordial setting. The unusual look and textured surface helps to enhance the image of your business and creates an indelible impression in the minds of your current and prospective customers. Dirty and moss filled pavers do not just create an unfriendly and cold atmosphere but are also hazardous. The floors tend to become slippery when wet.
Concrete Pavers: this type is more or less a variation of brick pavers; instead of clay the components of the mixture include water concrete or cement sand and other types of solid aggregates which are then molded under a high temperature kiln. Concrete pavers are commonly rectangular in shape and are arranged in the floor surface with gaps/joints of grout grass gravel or sand. Flooring pavers of this type are popular for their simple minimalist yet tidy appearance. Stone Pavers: boast of the natural look that they can bring in any spot. Paving components used for this type include granite limestone or flagstone which are polished and molded to suit the pattern desired.
When the paver field encroaches upon the last row or border it is time to assess how that perimeter of the deck will be secured. The border pavers will be adhered to the existing deck if and only if that perimeter is not abutted by a fixed structure (i.e. the house a wall or screen enclosure). If the paver border is set against one of these fixed structures then theres no where the pavers can move and thus even the border can float on top of the existing deck. If we have a deck that is open air then the perimeter pavers will be cemented down just like the coping.
